Tel Aviv, Feb 19: Israel’s Foreign Ministry dismissed a joint statement from eight Muslim countries as “factually baseless and intentionally misleading” over its recent push to register land in the West Bank.
On Tuesday, foreign ministers from Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates condemned Israel’s decision to declare West Bank land as state property and approve ownership registration and settlement procedures.
The ministry countered that the Palestinian Authority is the one illegally advancing land registrations in Area C, breaching laws and agreements. It stressed the move is a standard administrative step under civil and property law.
