Leh, Aug 16: Tricolour pride, music, and dance set the tone as the School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SAS&T), Leh Campus, University of Ladakh, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with youthful energy and patriotic fervor.
The morning began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Prof. D. Namgyal, Associate Director of SAS&T. Students and faculty stood together, singing the National Anthem in unison, turning the moment into a powerful reminder of India’s unity and freedom.
Speaking to the gathering, Prof. Namgyal highlighted the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and urged the youth to live by the values that shaped India’s independence. “It’s not just about remembering history, but about carrying forward the ideals of responsibility and service,” he said.
Adding vibrance to the event, students brought their talents to the stage. A patriotic song by Anayat Hussain, a B.Sc. Agriculture third-semester student, struck an emotional chord, while a spirited dance performance lit up the celebrations.
For the students and faculty of SAS&T, the day was more than just a commemoration — it was a reminder of their role in building a stronger, united India.
