The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has emphasized the importance of heatwave awareness, especially for farmers, as rising temperatures continue to pose risks to lives, livelihoods, and crops.
In a message, the IMD said timely weather alerts can help people plan their day better, protect their health, and safeguard agricultural produce from extreme heat conditions.
It urged citizens to stay prepared by using the “Mausam” mobile app, which provides real-time weather updates and alerts. The department also called for collective efforts to build resilience and ensure safety during the ongoing heatwave season.
