The medical outreach programme is being organised by the UT Administration in collaboration with the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and SNM Hospital, and will continue till May 14, 2026.
A team of specialist doctors provided consultations, diagnosis and treatment across various disciplines during the camp. The medical team included Dr. Neeta Misra, Dr. Darshil, Dr. Satyanarayan, Dr. Nilza Angmo and Dr. Tohaira.
Alongside modern healthcare services, a Sowa-Rigpa medical camp was also organised by the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa under the Tribal Health Care Research Programme. Renowned local Amchis, including Dr. Tsering Youton and Dr. Karma Tsewang Dolma, offered consultations and distributed traditional medicines free of cost based on diagnosis.
The camp further provided essential healthcare facilities such as tuberculosis screening, non-communicable disease (NCD) screening, radiology services and other diagnostic support aimed at ensuring comprehensive healthcare access for the public.
Officials associated with the initiative said the medical camp has emerged as an important healthcare outreach effort during the sacred exposition, providing accessible medical care to people arriving from different parts of Ladakh and neighbouring regions.
