Jammu, Dec 06: RSS Sarkaryawah Dattatreya Hosabale on Saturday urged greater youth involvement in nation-building as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh marked its 100-year journey at a prominent citizens’ meet in Jammu, projecting its roadmap for the future. Addressing more than 500 attendees at Convention Hall, he said the centenary should be viewed as a stepping stone towards deeper social transformation rather than a culmination.
Former Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan, the chief guest, praised the RSS for promoting social harmony and national unity over decades of grassroots engagement. Floral tributes to Bharat Mata set the tone for the programme, which brought together intellectuals, professionals, academicians and social workers.
Hosabale recalled the circumstances in which Dr K B Hedgewar founded the Sangh and traced its expansion through daily shakhas, educational initiatives and service activities nationwide. He said the organisation’s core aim remains the creation of a culturally rooted, united and self-assured Bharat.
Pointing to the years ahead, he emphasised broadening outreach to younger generations, protecting the environment, strengthening families and erasing social discrimination. He reminded citizens of their shared duty toward community service and collective progress.
Organisers noted that the centenary offers a moment to reflect on the Sangh’s contributions and chart the direction forward. The event concluded with the national song Vande Mataram and refreshments, with participants expressing renewed commitment to social uplift and national solidarity as the RSS steps into its next century.
