New Delhi/Jammu, Dec 06: Amit Sharma, IAS, Director Census Operations and Director Citizen Registration for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, urged the adoption of advanced, secure digital frameworks during the Twentieth Annual Information Security Summit hosted by NASSCOM-DSCI in the National Capital Region this week.

Sharma, invited as a keynote speaker and subject expert, led a panel discussion focused on large-scale digitisation of public services and the current preparedness of institutions in ensuring security and privacy. Addressing industry specialists from India and abroad, he underlined that Artificial Intelligence and blockchain-driven systems will be indispensable as the nation moves toward stronger information-security protocols.

He highlighted the forthcoming Paperless Digital Census as a prime example of technology-backed governance. According to him, future-ready digital models would serve as a critical backbone for implementing reforms and maintaining data confidentiality across government platforms.

Summit organisers, led by DSCI Director Atul Kumar, felicitated Sharma for contributing insights expected to help shape national cyber governance priorities and strengthen India’s IT ecosystem.

Earlier this week, Sharma also addressed trainee officers at J&K IMPARD in Jammu, sharing his experiences in introducing technology-based reforms during his tenure as IT Secretary and CEO of J&K e-Governance Agency. He cited the rollout of digital public services in Mizoram and Ladakh, including e-Office, Digilocker, SWAN and BHASHINI, as instances where innovation improved service delivery.

The session concluded with Director Courses Reva Sharma acknowledging the senior bureaucrat’s reputation as a proactive administrator, recalling his academic record as topper of the JKAS 2001 batch and later induction into the IAS in 2012.
