Leh, Apr 22: His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochey on Tuesday urged devotees across Ladakh to approach the forthcoming Holy Exposition of the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha with “deep compassion and devotion”, as the travelling display is set to cover Leh and Zanskar between May 1 and May 15.
Addressing the significance of the exposition, the revered spiritual leader underscored the spiritual importance of the relics, describing them as the physical embodiment of the enlightened wisdom and compassion of Gautama Buddha and other realised masters. He noted that the relics—referred to as Ring-sTrel—are not to be viewed as mere material remains but as sacred manifestations carrying enduring spiritual value.
Elaborating further, His Eminence said the relics appear in diverse forms and colours, each symbolising a rare spiritual legacy preserved through centuries. He maintained that devotees who witness the exposition with sincerity stand to receive “auspicious blessings” associated with these sacred objects.
The exposition, expected to draw large numbers of followers, will move across key locations in Leh and Zanskar, offering what religious authorities describe as a rare public viewing. Organisers indicated that detailed schedules and venues will be announced shortly.
The initiative is being seen as part of ongoing efforts to sustain and transmit Buddhist teachings in Ladakh, where religious traditions continue to shape social and cultural life. Monastic institutions and local bodies are likely to coordinate arrangements to facilitate public participation while ensuring order during the exposition.
Religious leaders have appealed to the public to maintain decorum and mindfulness during the visits, emphasising that the spiritual merit of the occasion lies in disciplined observance and collective reverence.
