LEH: In a significant visit underscoring the Indian Army’s continued focus on operational readiness and strategic infrastructure, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GoC-in-C) Northern Command, visited the Fire and Fury Corps.
The Army Commander was given an extensive briefing on the ongoing infrastructure development, capability enhancement measures and other operational initiatives being undertaken across the Ladakh sector.
Senior commanders apprised Lt Gen Sharma of the progress made in strengthening connectivity, logistics preparedness and habitat development in high-altitude forward areas, all aimed at bolstering the Army’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively in the region’s challenging terrain and climatic conditions.
The briefing highlighted key projects completed over recent months, reflecting the Army’s unwavering commitment to ensuring robust operational sustainability in Ladakh.
During the visit, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma felicitated personnel of the Indian Army and the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for their outstanding contribution to nation-building.
The joint efforts of military engineers and IOCL teams have led to the timely completion of several crucial infrastructure projects in remote forward locations.
These initiatives have not only strengthened India’s strategic posture but also showcased exemplary jointness and synergy between civil and military agencies.
The Army Commander commended the personnel for their professionalism, dedication, and spirit of service, noting that such collaborative achievements set a benchmark for inter-agency cooperation in high-altitude national security zones.
