JAMMU: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of former Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS officer Rohit Kansal as Union Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development.
Kansal, who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, has been elevated to the post at the Centre following the superannuation of the incumbent Secretary. The move places him at the helm of key rural development and poverty‑alleviation programmes, including flagship schemes being implemented across the country
