Bhubaneswar, Mar 13: Former Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Ranjan Swain has been appointed Chairman of the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC).
A 1991-batch IPS officer from Odisha, Swain retired as J&K DGP in 2024 and becomes the commission’s inaugural head. Hailing from Rourkela, he served as SSP in Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Poonch, and Ramban districts, and held key posts in J&K Vigilance and as Special DG CID.
Swain earned acclaim for his firm anti-terrorism stance, playing a crucial role in dismantling terror funding networks in Jammu and Kashmir.
