Leh: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office, Ladakh, has rolled out an extensive outreach campaign to promote the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) — the Government of India’s latest employment initiative aimed at generating formal jobs and extending social security coverage to workers.
As part of the campaign, EPFO officials Akshat Ahlawat (Enforcement Officer/Accounts Officer) and Sandeep Kumar (Section Supervisor) visited several establishments in Leh, including SIDCO, Sindh Public School, Ladakh Placement Hub, and the National Institute of Sowa Rigpa. The officials held detailed interactions with employers, HR managers, and institutional representatives, outlining the benefits, eligibility criteria, and registration procedures for enrollment under the PMVBRY scheme.
The officers highlighted that the scheme encourages employers to create new job opportunities in the formal sector, particularly benefiting youth and women, while ensuring social security protection through the EPFO framework. They also explained the government’s contribution benefits available for new employees registered under the programme.
According to EPFO representatives, the initiative seeks to accelerate the pace of formal employment growth in Ladakh by ensuring that both employers and employees are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities under the provident fund system. The campaign, they noted, aligns with EPFO’s wider objective of bringing the region’s workforce within the fold of organized employment, thereby strengthening financial inclusion and long-term job stability.
The Regional Office has further planned a series of awareness sessions in collaboration with industrial bodies, educational institutions, and public sector organizations in the coming months. These efforts are aimed at deepening participation in the PMVBRY and ensuring Ladakh’s active contribution to the broader mission of a Viksit Bharat.
