KARGIL: The Executive Councillor for Tourism Development Authority, Kacho Mohd Feroz, has directed officials to accelerate work on delayed and uninitiated tourism projects across Kargil, asserting that timely completion is crucial for boosting the region’s tourism prospects.
Chairing a review meeting on Wednesday, Feroz assessed the status of ongoing works under the Kargil Development Authority. The meeting brought together Executive Councillor for Rural Development and ZDA, Er. Punchok Tashi, Executive Councillor for Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Aga Syed Mujtaba, councillors from various constituencies of LAHDC Kargil, and senior officials including the Executive Engineer of KDA.
During the session, officials held detailed discussions on hurdles slowing down project execution. Feroz instructed the engineering wing to ensure all stalled and upcoming initiatives are pushed forward without delay.
He also directed that estimates for pending works be completed and submitted promptly, enabling proposals to reach higher authorities in advance for necessary approvals and funding. The councillor noted that strengthened tourism infrastructure will play a vital role in enhancing visitor experience and economic growth in the years ahead.
