LEH: Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Leh, Tsewang Gyalson, on Wednesday reviewed the ongoing implementation of the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP-I), calling for immediate updates on project progress and strict adherence to verification norms.
Chairing a meeting at the VC Room of the DC Office Leh, the CPO examined both physical and financial achievements of works sanctioned under the central scheme, along with progress on convergence efforts. He urged departments to upload geo-tagged photographs on the Digital VVP-I portal to ensure transparency and real-time assessment of ground execution.
Gyalson instructed officials to expedite clearance of pending queries and focus on essential project proposals that require urgent submission to the Ministry. He asked departments to submit Detailed Project Reports for interventions that would strengthen amenities in border villages.
To promote tourism in remote areas, the CPO directed officers to prepare estimates for signage and selfie points at identified visitor locations. He stressed timely completion of pending works while ensuring proper fund utilisation and certification of finished projects at departmental level.
During the review, officers raised several concerns, which the CPO addressed, reiterating that documentation, bill submissions and status updates must align with the actual execution of works.
Departments were also told to organise awareness programmes and service delivery camps for residents of Vibrant Village zones, along with photographic evidence of activities.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including the Superintending Engineers of PWD and I&FC, Chief Medical Officer Leh, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, DEPO Leh, DYSSO Leh, Executive Engineer SSD Nyoma, Assistant Directors of Tourism and RDD, among others.
