Kargil, Apr 05: The Education Department in Kargil organised a farewell-cum-welcome function to mark the transition in leadership, bidding adieu to outgoing Director of School Education Ladakh Tashi Dolma and welcoming her successor Imteeaz Kacho.
The event, organised at the Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC), brought together principals, zonal education officers, headmasters and officials from the Chief Education Officer’s office, reflecting a coordinated effort by the department’s field and administrative wings.
Chief Education Officer Sonam Wangchuk, who presided over the programme, welcomed both officers and acknowledged their engagement with the education fraternity in the district.
Addressing the gathering, Tashi Dolma expressed gratitude to the teaching and administrative community of Kargil, crediting their collective work and cooperation during her tenure. She also conveyed her best wishes to the incoming Director as he assumes charge of the department.
Imteeaz Kacho, in his remarks, thanked the organisers for the reception and indicated his intent to build on existing efforts to strengthen the school education framework in Ladakh. He underscored the importance of continuity in administrative processes and collaboration among stakeholders.
Both officers referred to the role of institutional stakeholders, particularly Drawing and Disbursing Officers, in maintaining financial discipline and ensuring smooth implementation of departmental programmes. They emphasised the need for sustained coordination to improve access, efficiency and inclusivity in the education system.
The function concluded with a note of continuity, with officials reiterating their focus on advancing educational outcomes through administrative cohesion and stakeholder participation.
