Doda, Apr 8: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and MoS in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Kishtwar, conducting a thorough review of ongoing projects and welfare initiatives.
Dr Singh stressed enhanced inter-departmental coordination, rigorous monitoring, and timely execution for effective grassroots delivery, directing officials to maintain quality in PMGSY road works and airstrip development to boost connectivity and tourism.
He reviewed cremation sheds, rehabilitation of Kandani inhabitants affected by power projects, promotion of local produce like kala zeera and saffron via market linkages, and youth engagement through Sansad Khel initiatives. The minister also mandated transparent smart metering by the Power Department, wider scheme awareness, and swift grievance redressal.
The meeting saw inputs from MP Sajad Ahmed Kitchloo, MLA Shagun Parihar, DISHA members, and district officers on Action Taken Reports. DC Pankaj Kumar Sharma presented the district’s developmental profile, highlighting progress in health, education, rural development, agriculture, and social welfare under central and UT schemes.
