Srinagar, June 25: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday chaired a high-level security review meeting to assess preparedness for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra and review ongoing counter-terror operations across Kashmir.
The meeting focused on strengthening multi-agency coordination and ensuring comprehensive security arrangements for the annual pilgrimage. Senior officers from Kilo Force, CRPF, SSB, BSF and ITBP participated in the meeting.
During the review, SSPs of Srinagar, Budgam, Bandipora and Ganderbal presented detailed security plans covering deployment strategies, route security, surveillance measures, emergency response mechanisms and coordination between various agencies.
Taking stock of the security situation in the Valley, DGP Prabhat directed all forces to maintain round-the-clock alertness, enhance intelligence sharing and ensure smooth coordination among all stakeholders.
He stressed that all security agencies must remain vigilant to ensure the peaceful and incident-free conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra while continuing efforts against terror activities in Kashmir.
The DGP said effective intelligence coordination, robust security measures and close cooperation among agencies are essential for protecting pilgrims and maintaining peace and stability in the region.
