New Delhi, Mar 25: Delhi Police Crime Branch dismantled a major arms smuggling module with ties to Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, arresting 10 in a swift operation.
Joint Commissioner Surender Kumar detailed at a press conference: In early March, intel revealed a syndicate supplying weapons across North India for 7-8 months. On March 13, a Daryaganj raid nabbed three—Rahil (main accused) and two cousins—with four sophisticated pistols.
Interrogation exposed Sonu Gupta from Jaunpur, who had collected five weapons 30 minutes prior. Tracked and arrested within 1-1.5 hours in the same area, the probe uncovered seven more arrests, sealing the network.
Weapons were highly advanced, sourced via porous borders. Further links and seizures continue.
