NEW DELHI, Sept 26: The Delhi government will launch a citywide enforcement drive from October 1 to check vehicles for valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Saturday.
Gupta made the announcement after inaugurating a Vehicle Automatic Testing Station (ATS) in the Burari area as part of the government’s efforts to tackle air pollution in the national capital.
She said the enforcement drive will focus on ensuring that vehicles operating in Delhi have valid PUC certificates.
The Chief Minister said the government was taking measures throughout the year to reduce air pollution and described the PUC enforcement initiative as another step towards improving air quality in the city.
