Nubra, May 21 : In the wake of the recently declared CBSE examination results, Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Mukul Beniwal on Wednesday directed government school principals and teachers across the district to intensify academic monitoring and adopt sustained intervention measures aimed at improving students’ performance.
The directions were issued during a comprehensive review meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner at the Conference Hall of the DC Office in Diskit, where the academic performance of government schools and institutional challenges confronting the education sector in Nubra came under detailed discussion.
Reviewing the performance of students in the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, Beniwal stressed the need for regular assessment, timely academic feedback and close monitoring of student progress to improve educational outcomes, particularly in remote and geographically challenging areas of the district.
He instructed school heads and teaching staff to establish structured follow-up mechanisms to ensure consistent review of students’ academic performance and directed them to take additional corrective measures for the betterment of learners.
Emphasising collective responsibility in the education system, the Deputy Commissioner observed that higher academic standards could only be achieved through coordinated efforts involving teachers, school administrations and parents. He also underlined the need for creating a supportive learning atmosphere conducive to the overall development of students.
The meeting further deliberated on institutional accountability and measures to strengthen the quality of teaching and learning across government schools in the district.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nubra, Jigmet Raftan, along with principals of government schools from across the district, attended the meeting.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with toppers from government schools who excelled in the recently declared CBSE examinations during a felicitation programme held at the DC Office in Diskit.
The students were honoured with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their academic achievements as part of the district administration’s initiative to encourage meritorious students and promote academic excellence in the region.
During the interaction, Beniwal congratulated the students and commended their discipline, perseverance and commitment towards academics. He also discussed their study routines, preparation strategies and examination experiences while encouraging them to remain focused on their future aspirations.
Urging the students to continue striving for excellence, the Deputy Commissioner advised them to contribute positively to society through education, consistency and hard work. The interaction reflected the administration’s continued engagement with young achievers and its emphasis on strengthening the academic culture in Nubra.
Officials of the district administration and representatives from the education sector were also present on the occasion.
