Leh, Feb 21: Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Leh, Tsewang Gyalson on Friday chaired a review meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) at the VC Room of the DC Office Leh to assess the utilisation of funds under the trust.
The meeting focused on examining both pending and completed cases under the DMFT framework. After detailed deliberations, approvals were granted to the pending proposals in accordance with prescribed norms.
Officials also discussed fresh proposals placed before the committee. These included procurement of sports equipment, upgradation of school infrastructure, and purchase of ambulances for health centres, among other developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening public services in the district.
While reviewing the proposals, the CPO underlined the need for careful and requirement-based spending of DMFT resources. He directed officials to prioritise genuine and essential demands to ensure that funds are channelled towards initiatives that directly benefit the public.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Mineral Officer and other members of the DMFT committee.
