Leh, Feb 21: The University of Ladakh, in collaboration with Government Degree College Zanskar and Himalayan Learner’s Hub, conducted the second virtual seminar for Civil Services Examination (CSE) aspirants on February 19, drawing participation from around 60 candidates across the region.
The webinar featured Ms. Padma Angmo, an Indian Information Service (IIS) officer presently serving as Additional Director General, Central Bureau of Communication, New Delhi, as the keynote speaker.
Sharing her personal journey into the civil services, Ms. Angmo spoke about the perseverance and sustained effort required to navigate the highly competitive Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination. She outlined the challenges faced during preparation and underscored the importance of maintaining focus and confidence throughout the process.
During her interaction with participants, she offered practical guidance on the selection of optional subjects and adopting structured preparation strategies. She also stressed the value of regular newspaper reading to remain informed about national and international developments.
Highlighting discipline, effective time management and clarity of concepts as essential pillars of preparation, the IIS officer encouraged aspirants to build a consistent study routine and stay committed to their goals.
The interactive session that followed saw aspirants raising queries related to preparation methods and examination strategy. Ms. Angmo responded to each question in detail, providing clear and thoughtful answers.
Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker for engaging with aspirants from Ladakh. He appreciated her willingness to mentor students from the region and sought her continued guidance for future academic initiatives.
