New Delhi, Feb 12: Congress backed trade unions’ day-long strike against Centre’s policies Thursday, with Rahul Gandhi questioning if PM Narendra Modi will heed workers and farmers or if a “grip” holds him back.
Gandhi alleged the government ignored labour voices on new codes, farmers on US trade deal impacts, and villages via MGNREGA cuts. “Lakhs are protesting today—will Modiji listen now?” he posted on X.
CPM president Mallikarjun Kharge attacked the “TRAP DEAL” as mortgaging farmers’ futures to foreign pressure, harming national interests. “From streets to Parliament, our fight continues,” he said, jibing at past “Abki baar Trump sarkaar” chants.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called govt actions a farmer betrayal, fully supporting the strike mobilising 30 crore against labour codes and pro-corporate moves.
