Leh, Mar 13: A delegation representing the Changthang Nyoma region on Friday met Tashi Gyaltsan Khachu, submitting a memorandum outlining several pressing concerns affecting the Nyoma constituency and the local transport sector.
The interaction took place in Leh in the presence of PT Kunzang, with representatives from Changthang highlighting issues faced by communities across the remote sub-division.
The delegation was led by Eshey Spalzang and included Kunga Namgyal, the President of the Nyoma Taxi Union, along with several Gobas representing villages from across the Changthang sub-division.
During the meeting, the delegation presented grievances linked to local development and operational challenges confronting the transport sector in the Nyoma area. According to participants, the issues raised also reflected wider concerns of residents living in remote parts of Changthang.
Responding to the representations, Khachu held discussions with the concerned departments soon after the meeting, seeking to address the matters flagged by the delegation.
The engagement, according to those present, underscored ongoing efforts by party leadership to ensure that concerns from distant areas of Ladakh reach decision-making forums and receive administrative attention.
Nyoma, located in the Changthang region of eastern Ladakh, remains one of the most remote constituencies where transport connectivity and local services continue to be vital concerns for residents.
