Kargil, May 19 : Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Mohd Jaffer Akhoon on Monday assured early allotment of land for the establishment of a Hajj Facilitation Centre, following a memorandum submitted by the newly constituted Hajj Committee seeking a dedicated Hajj House in Kargil for pilgrims.
The assurance was given during a meeting held at the Council Secretariat, where the CEC welcomed the newly appointed members of the committee and discussed issues related to facilities and administrative support for Hajj pilgrims from the district.
Responding to the committee’s demand for land, Akhoon said the proposed Hajj House would cater to an important public requirement and directed Executive Officer Hajj Committee and Accounts Officer Zakir Hussain to initiate the necessary formalities for the allotment process.

He urged the Hajj Committee to extend coordinated support in pursuing the matter with the concerned authorities.
The meeting was attended by committee members Bilal Ahmad, Zahara Banoo, Mohd Hussain, Achay Malo, Sheikh Liyqat and Haji Ghulam Mohd, besides Hajj Coordinator Habibillah and officials associated with the Hajj Committee.
