JAMMU, MAR 17: A wave of shock and panic gripped the Chatha Farm area on the outskirts of Jammu after a local man was found brutally murdered in a pool of blood late tonight.
The victim, identified as Balvir Singh, son of Surjeet Singh, a resident of Chatha Farm, was discovered by passers-by with life-threatening injuries.
According to police sources, Singh’s throat had been slit with a sharp-edged weapon by an unidentified assailant.
Upon receiving the information, a team from the Satwari Police Station rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the critically injured man to the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu. However, despite the prompt rescue effort, doctors at the facility declared him “brought dead.”
The Satwari Police has taken swift cognizance of the cold-blooded killing.
Speaking on the matter, Superintendent of Police (SP) South Ajay Sharma confirmed the incident. He added that a formal case under FIR Number 66/2026 under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) (Murder).
has been registered at Police Station Satwari to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Forensic experts have visited the crime scene to collect evidence.
Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from the vicinity and questioning locals to establish a motive and identify the “unknown person” mentioned in the initial report.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and further investigation is currently underway.
