Kargil, May 07: Seeking to sharpen its grassroots network in Kargil district, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday organised a Mandal Prashikshan Abhiyaan, with senior leaders emphasising organisational discipline, ideological orientation and sustained public outreach as central to the party’s expansion strategy in the region.
The programme, chaired by BJP State President Tashi Gyaltsan Khachu, drew participation from senior office bearers, councillors, Haj Committee members, district presidents and party workers, reflecting what party leaders described as an effort to strengthen coordination at the mandal and booth levels.
Addressing the gathering, Khachu said the party’s organisational structure could only be reinforced through regular training and direct engagement with the public. He told workers that programmes such as the Mandal Prashikshan Abhiyaan were designed to improve discipline, administrative efficiency and ideological clarity among cadres while preparing them to respond effectively to public concerns.
He also urged party workers to maintain close contact with residents and remain committed to public service, stressing that political outreach must be accompanied by sustained engagement at the grassroots level.
Senior BJP leaders who attended the programme echoed similar views, underlining the need for a disciplined and well-organised cadre base to expand the party’s reach across Kargil and adjoining areas. Speakers at the event said structured training exercises were necessary to ensure organisational cohesion and strengthen the party’s functioning at the local level.
Among those present were BJP State Vice President Haji Anayat Ali, State General Secretary and Councillor Stanzin Lakpa, State Mahila Morcha President Rinchen Dolkar, Mahila Morcha State Vice President Tashi Dolkar, Kisan Morcha President Lobzang Larje, State Spokesperson Nurboo Wakha, Kargil Prabhari Ashraf Ali, former Executive Councillor Ghulam Mehdi, State Protocol Incharge Rigzin and Councillor Padma Dorje, besides nominated councillors and other senior party functionaries.
The training programme concluded with party workers reiterating their commitment to strengthening the BJP’s organisational presence in Kargil through coordinated outreach and cadre-based mobilisation.
