Nyoma: In a move aimed at strengthening organisational preparedness and reviewing developmental outreach in remote border areas, a high-level organisational meeting of the BJP Changthang Region was convened in Nyoma to assess ongoing works and formulate strategy for the upcoming elections.
The meeting was chaired by Ishey Spalzang, President BJP Changthang Region, who emphasised the importance of sustained grassroots engagement and performance-based governance in the region. He highlighted the need for continuous monitoring of development initiatives to ensure tangible benefits reach residents of the high-altitude and geographically challenging Changthang belt.
The session was attended by Kunga Namgyal, Nyoma Mandal President, along with members of the mandal executive team. Senior party member Rigzin Tangay also participated in the deliberations, providing organisational inputs and sharing field-level insights based on his extensive experience in public and party affairs.
Detailed ground-level reports were presented on the status of key infrastructure projects, welfare schemes, and public service delivery mechanisms across the region. Particular focus was placed on ensuring last-mile delivery of government benefits in the remote highlands, where logistical and climatic challenges often impact implementation timelines.
With elections approaching, discussions centred on strengthening booth-level organisational structure, improving coordination among party workers, and enhancing public outreach efforts. Leaders also stressed the importance of sustained engagement with nomadic and pastoral communities, recognising their unique socio-economic concerns and livelihood patterns.
The leadership reiterated its commitment towards accelerating development, improving connectivity, and expanding livelihood opportunities across Changthang. Party functionaries expressed confidence that continued focus on development-oriented governance and community engagement would translate into strong public support in the upcoming electoral process.
The meeting concluded with a call for coordinated efforts among party cadres to ensure effective communication of developmental initiatives and maintain consistent presence at the grassroots level across the region.
