New Delhi, Jan 28: The iconic Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk on Thursday will resonate with patriotic melodies like ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’, and ‘Sitare Hind’ performed by Indian armed forces and paramilitary bands, celebrating 150 years of the national song.
Seating enclosures have been creatively named after traditional Indian instruments including bansuri, sitar, tabla, and shehnai, enhancing the cultural theme that dominated Republic Day celebrations.
The ceremony begins with massed bands playing ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’, followed by Army, Navy, Air Force, and CAPF performances featuring tunes like ‘Vijay Bharat’, ‘Brave Warrior’, and ‘Namaste’, culminating in ‘Sare Jahan Se Achha’ by buglers.
President Droupadi Murmu, PM Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries will attend this grand finale of the 77th Republic Day festivities, conducted by Squadron Leader Leimapokpam Rupachandra Singh and other distinguished musicians.
