Kurukshetra (Haryana), Jan 9 (PTI) The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Khanpur Kolian here this morning as part of its Haryana leg, and will witness an all-women walk on Monday. The foot march had entered Kurukshetra district from Karnal on Sunday with a large number of people joining the Yatra. State Congress chief Udai Bhan said the Yatra on Monday will also witness an all-women walk.

New Delhi, Jan 9 (PTI) India saw a single-day rise of 170 coronavirus infections on Monday, while the active cases declined by 52 to reach 2,371. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated at 8 am Monday, the total number of cases is now 4.46 crore (4,46,80,094). The death toll stands at 5,30,721 with one more fatality reported from Madhya Pradesh, the data stated.
Kannauj (UP), Jan 9 (PTI) Three passengers were killed while 18 others injured as a Sultanpur-bound bus fell off the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Piprauli village here amid dense fog, police said on Monday. The bus carrying 30 passengers was coming from Anand Vihar in Delhi, SHO of Thatia police station, Kamal Bhati, said. Four of the passengers were seriously injured in the accident that took place on Sunday night.
Bareilly (UP), Jan 9 (PTI) BJP MP Varun Gandhi has asked sugar mills to clear dues they owe to farmers or be ready to face protests. At a public function in Arsiaboj village in Baheri assembly segment, which falls under his parliamentary constituency of Pilibhit, Gandhi said if sugar mills don’t start paying dues to farmers immediately, a protest meet by cane-growers will be organised at their gates. He named two sugar mills in particular. He also raised questions over the unemployment scenario in the country.

Kota (Rajasthan), Jan 7 (PTI) Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to participate in a credit outreach program here on Sunday, an official statement said. The finance minister and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who is also the MP from Kota – Bundi, will distribute loans to street vendors, small scale entrepreneurs and cattle rearers under Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana and Mudra Yojana at Dussehra Ground. New Delhi, Jan 7 (PTI) A Delhi court on Saturday sent Shankar Mishra, accused of urinating on a woman co-passenger on an Air India flight, to judicial remand for 14 days while rejecting a plea by police for his custody. The police sought his remand for three days for custodial interrogation, saying he was required to be identified by three cabin crew members and two captains and other co-passengers were also to be examined.
