Mumbai, Jan 29: Popular playback singer Arijit Singh has announced his retirement from film playback singing, saying he will no longer accept new assignments as a playback vocalist. In a social media post on January 27, the 38‑year‑old singer thanked fans for their years of support and described his journey in Hindi cinema as “wonderful,” while clarifying that he is not giving up music altogether.
Singh stated that he will continue to make music independently, honour existing film commitments, and may release some already‑recorded songs later in 2026.
