Anantnag, Apr 19: Anantnag Police intensified their anti-drug drive, registering three cases, arresting six peddlers, and seizing over 3.7kg of narcotics plus ₹10,450 in cash across separate operations.
PS Anantnag (Danter Naka): Four suspects—Shabir Qayoom Deva (Cheeni Chowk), Zahid Manzoor Mir (Hassanpora), Faizan Lone (Mir-Danter)—tried fleeing during checks but were nabbed with 3.178kg ganja powder-like substance and ₹10,450. Gowher Reshi (Danter) escaped. Investigation underway.
PP Sangam (Marhama Crossing): Police stopped Swift (JK04J-5556), arresting Mohammad Tufail Hajam and Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday (both Badipora Chadoora) with 3.29g brown sugar-like and 7.88g charas-like substances. FIR 97/2026 u/s 8/20/21/29 NDPS Act.
PS Bijbehara (Doodhnad Waghama): Javaid Ahmad Mantoo (Waghama) caught with 468g charas powder. FIR 98/2026 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act.
