Zanskar, Apr 22 : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, on Tuesday held an interaction with party functionaries in Zanskar, focusing on organisational matters and the evolving administrative framework for the region.
The meeting brought together key district and mandal-level leaders, including Rigzin Tsewang, Thukjay Gyalson, Stanzin Norbo, Stanzin Loden, Lobzang Otzer, Tashi Wangal and Nima Namgyal.
Discussions centred on the implementation of the proposed Zanskar district and the contours of a governance model suited to the region’s unique geographical and administrative requirements. Party leaders emphasised the need for decentralisation and the strengthening of local self-governance mechanisms to ensure more responsive administration.
Participants also reviewed organisational issues within the party, with an emphasis on improving coordination at the grassroots level and enhancing engagement with local communities.
During the interaction, party leaders raised local concerns alongside organisational matters. Responding to these, Gyalson assured that grievances would be addressed, with some issues resolved during the meeting itself.
Expressing appreciation, Rigzin Tsewang thanked Gyalson for his patient hearing and prompt response. “We fully believe in your leadership. Your versatile work and dedication truly inspire us,” he said.
The meeting assumes importance amid ongoing deliberations on administrative restructuring in Ladakh, where demands for more effective governance and greater autonomy continue to shape the political discourse.
