Acute water crisis, stalled projects dominate ‘Mimang-Si-sJabstogs’ event at Ranbipur

LEH: Acute drinking water shortages, stalled Jal Jeevan Mission works, deteriorating village roads and the absence of a community hall dominated public grievances as residents of Ranbipur engaged with officials during the latest “Mimang-Si-Sjabstogs” outreach programme on Friday. Departmental representatives assured villagers that their concerns would be taken up with the relevant authorities for prompt action.

The outreach team, led by Deputy Secretary (LAACL) Tsewang Paljor, visited the village as part of the administration’s effort to deliver services and strengthen grievance-redressal systems at the grassroots level. The Village Nambardar welcomed the officials and acknowledged the importance of direct communication between the administration and rural households.

Opening the session, Paljor underlined that the Mimang-Si-Sjabstogs initiative aims to bridge the gap between citizens and the government by bringing services and welfare schemes directly to remote communities. He encouraged residents to present their grievances without hesitation.

Officials from various departments introduced their ongoing schemes and briefed villagers about welfare programmes currently under implementation. During the interaction, locals highlighted long-standing civic deficiencies, including severe drinking water scarcity, problems hindering Jal Jeevan Mission progress, neglected road infrastructure and the lack of a community hall for public functions. The officials assured them that each issue would be forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary follow-up.

Principal Tsewang Yangdol of Thiksay High School also addressed the gathering, sharing recent academic achievements and ongoing efforts to improve the school’s learning environment. Villagers later proposed relocating the school to a more spacious site, arguing that a larger campus would better serve students’ educational needs. The administration noted the suggestion for further examination.

As part of the outreach, the administration provided on-spot public services, including Aadhaar updates, ABHA and Golden Card assistance, and basic health screenings such as blood pressure, haemoglobin and blood sugar tests—allowing residents to access essential facilities within the village itself.

The programme concluded with a renewed pledge by the administration to continue such community-focused engagements, ensuring accessible services and timely redressal of public grievances.
