Leh: The Office of the Election Officer at the University of Ladakh’s Leh Campus today announced the results of the Ladakh University Students’ Union (LUSU) elections for the 2025–26 academic session, with an entire panel backed by the student organization Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) elected unopposed across all positions.

The declaration followed the withdrawal of nomination papers by rival candidates, leaving no post with more than one valid contender. Skarma Ldaysar Angmo was elected President, Tsewang Dolma as Vice President, Rigzen Dorjey as General Secretary, and Tsering Yangdol as Joint Secretary. Dawa Namgyal secured the Sports Secretary role, Stanzin Rigdol became Treasurer, Stanzin Kunzang was chosen as Media Secretary, Tsering Kunsal as Cultural Secretary, and Anayat Hussain as the SAS&T Leh Campus Representative. The elected representatives hail from diverse departments and semesters, including Political Science, Commerce, Physical Education, English, and Economics.

In a post-results ceremony, the Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW), Associate Dean Academic Affairs, Dean of Colleges Leh, Coordinator of the Department of Political Science, and the Chief Proctor felicitated the winners and congratulated them on their unopposed victory. The newly elected team later received a warm welcome from Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha, who extended his best wishes and urged them to work diligently for the university’s and student community’s welfare.

Election Officer Dr. Kailash B. Goswami formally declared the results, praising the smooth process conducted under his supervision, which upheld transparency and university norms. He appreciated the cooperation from students and staff that ensured the elections’ success. The list of elected candidates has been forwarded to key authorities, including the Dean of Students’ Welfare and the Registrar’s office, for records.
