Zanskar, May 22 : Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) Ladakh, Tushar Anand on Thursday reviewed healthcare services and hospital infrastructure at Community Health Centre (CHC) Zanskar during his ongoing three-day tour of Zanskar and Kargil districts.
During the inspection visit, Anand interacted with doctors, paramedical staff and healthcare workers to assess the functioning of the health facility and review issues concerning service delivery in the remote region.
Healthcare staff raised concerns related to loyalty bonus, enhancement of wages and long-pending transfers during the interaction. The Mission Director assured them that genuine demands would be taken up with the Ministry of Health and other concerned authorities for consideration.
Officials said the visit was aimed at evaluating healthcare delivery mechanisms and identifying areas requiring administrative and infrastructural intervention.
Anand also interacted with patients at the hospital to gather feedback regarding medical services and emphasised the need for patient-centric healthcare delivery and efficient management of hospital facilities.
During the inspection, he visited the Operation Theatre, wards, pharmacy and other sections of the hospital to review infrastructure, functioning and maintenance standards.
The Mission Director directed hospital authorities to strengthen healthcare delivery systems, maintain proper records and improve transparency through the installation and updating of information boards within the hospital premises.
He also stressed the need for better management and coordination of hospital services to ensure smooth functioning of the institution and improved patient care.
Officials stated that the inspection forms part of NHM Ladakh’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and service delivery in remote and geographically challenging areas of the Union Territory.
