Leh, May 17 : The District-Level Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) on Saturday reviewed several cases related to compassionate appointments under SRO-43 during a meeting chaired by Delex Namgyal at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Leh.
The meeting was convened to examine and process appointment cases submitted by various government departments under the provisions of SRO-43, which provides employment assistance to eligible family members of deceased government employees.
Officials said the committee reviewed a total of eight cases from different departments for consideration and approval. These included two cases from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and one case each from the Power Development Department (PDD), Sheep Husbandry Department, Medical Department, Mechanical Department, Education Department and Forest Department.
The proceedings focused on verification of eligibility criteria, departmental documentation and compliance with procedural requirements before forwarding the cases for further approval under the compassionate appointment framework.
The meeting was attended by Rigzin Yangdol along with heads of offices and representatives from the departments concerned.
Officials stated that the review process forms part of the district administration’s ongoing efforts to ensure timely disposal of compassionate appointment cases and provide administrative support to families facing financial hardship following the death of a government employee.
The SRO-43 mechanism continues to serve as an institutional relief measure aimed at extending immediate employment support to bereaved families, particularly in cases involving sole breadwinners in government service.
