Leh, May 09: In a rare display of interfaith solidarity and spiritual unity, prominent religious leaders from across the country gathered at Jivetsal in Leh on Thursday to pay homage to the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha and collectively advocate peace, harmony and non-violence amid growing global unrest and divisions.

Standing before the Holy Relics during the ongoing Sacred Grand Exposition of the Tathāgat Buddha, the religious dignitaries jointly raised the message of peace and coexistence, underlining compassion and dialogue as essential pathways for humanity in times marked by conflict and social discord.

The delegation was led by Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder and Spiritual Director of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Leh, who welcomed the participating religious leaders attending the Interfaith Conference organised as part of the exposition.

Among those who offered prayers and paid respects to the Sacred Relics were H.H. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, Founder President of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti and World Peace Centre, New Delhi; H.H. Goswami Sushil Ji Maharaj, Convenor of the Bhartiya Sarv Dharm Sansad; Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organisation; Sardar Paramjeet Singh Chandok, Chief Advisor of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Committee; Dr. A.K. Merchant, General Secretary of the Temple of Understanding India Foundation and Secretary of the Bahá’í Spiritual Assembly of Delhi NCT; and Rajyogini Dr. Binny Sareen of the Brahma Kumaris.

During the gathering, the leaders offered collective prayers for universal brotherhood, communal harmony and lasting peace across nations, while reiterating the importance of mutual respect among different faith traditions.

The Interfaith Conference has been jointly organised by the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh as part of the ongoing Sacred Relic Exposition, which has drawn thousands of devotees and visitors from different regions and communities.

The exposition, being held in Leh, continues to emerge as a major spiritual and cultural congregation, bringing together religious scholars, faith leaders and pilgrims on a common platform centred on peace, compassion and shared human values.
