Leh, May 05: The Haj Committee on Monday felicitated Tashi Gyaltson Khachu, commending the Bharatiya Janata Party’s role in facilitating arrangements for Haj pilgrims and addressing their concerns in Ladakh.
A delegation led by Chairman Ghulam Abbas Abidi, accompanied by committee member Aisha Malo and senior BJP leader Mohd Hussain, called on the BJP leadership at its Leh office. The members conveyed their appreciation for what they described as sustained institutional support extended to the Haj Committee.
During the interaction, Khachu was honoured by the delegation in recognition of the party’s engagement in resolving logistical and administrative issues faced by Haj aspirants. The delegation noted that coordinated efforts between the party leadership and the committee had contributed to improving facilitation mechanisms for pilgrims from the region.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the Haj Committee underlined that timely intervention and responsiveness by the BJP leadership had aided in streamlining communication channels and assistance processes linked to the annual pilgrimage.
The members further observed that such collaboration has helped ease procedural challenges, ensuring that applicants receive necessary support in a structured and efficient manner.
The visit, officials said, reflects continuing coordination between community institutions and political representatives in Ladakh, with a focus on addressing public concerns related to religious obligations and travel arrangements.
