Leh, May 05 : Setting the tone for administrative functioning in Nubra, Deputy Commissioner Mukul Beniwal on Monday called for discipline, efficiency and greater accountability in public service while chairing an introductory meeting of district officers, attended by newly appointed Superintendent of Police Stanzin Losal following his assumption of charge.

The meeting brought together Heads of Offices and officials to review the district’s administrative landscape and establish a coordinated approach to governance. Officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner on departmental responsibilities and ongoing activities, providing an overview of service delivery mechanisms across Nubra.

Earlier, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jigmet Raftan outlined the administrative structure of the sub-division, setting the context for discussions that followed. A round of introductions allowed departments to present their operational priorities and current engagements.

Emphasising the need for timely execution of government programmes, Beniwal directed officers to ensure that welfare schemes are implemented effectively so that benefits reach all eligible sections without delay. He underscored the importance of strengthening outreach at the village level, asking departments to conduct regular public interaction programmes aimed at improving awareness and accessibility of services.

He further stressed punctuality and accountability in day-to-day functioning, indicating that periodic review meetings would be convened to monitor progress and address bottlenecks. The emphasis, officials said, was on improving inter-departmental coordination and ensuring measurable outcomes in governance.

The presence of the new Superintendent of Police signalled a parallel focus on administrative and law enforcement alignment, with officials noting the importance of coordinated efforts in maintaining order and facilitating development initiatives.

All Heads of Offices and district officials attended the meeting, marking the first formal interaction under the current administrative leadership in Nubra.
