Bandipora, April 19: Fresh heavy snowfall blanketed higher reaches of Bandipora district overnight, including Tulail, Kilshay, Trakbal, Buduaab, Razdan Top, and surrounding areas, disrupting life and road connectivity.
Slippery roads and poor visibility prompted authorities to suspend vehicular movement, especially on the Bandipora-Gurez road. SDM Gurez, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, issued an advisory yesterday closing the route due to ongoing snowfall forecasts, urging commuters to avoid travel until conditions improve.
Temperatures plunged across the district amid the sudden weather shift.
