Leh Jan 08: Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Leh Air Commodore Sanjay Prabhu on Wednesday met Lt Governor of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta at Lok Niwas and shared an overview of the ongoing activities of the Indian Air Force in the region.

During the interaction Air Commodore Prabhu briefed the Lt Governor about the preparedness of the Air Force at Leh airbase which remains a crucial link for freight and passenger movement through the long winter stretch when most routes remain blocked.

The meeting also covered the joint efforts of the Air Force and the Ladakh Administration in keeping air services smooth and supporting civil agencies during emergency situations. Senior officials discussed arrangements for medical evacuation weather-linked disruption and supply of ration and relief material to remote pockets cut off by snow.

Lt Governor Gupta praised the Air Force for its role in border defence as well as its continuing support to residents during difficult months. He appreciated the assistance provided to people living in far-flung areas and said the administration will continue to work closely with the Air Force to keep vital air routes open and ensure timely help wherever required.
