JAMMU: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, has called for an urgent and transparent apportionment of staff between the Union Territory of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir, asserting that the pending process continues to hinder government operations in Kargil and elsewhere.
During a meeting with M Raju, Administrative Secretary of the General Administration Department in Jammu, Dr Akhoon highlighted that a time-bound settlement of employee postings is vital to ensure uninterrupted public services and efficient functioning of government offices across both regions.
He further raised concerns over long-pending service matters involving Ladakh employees, including unresolved mutual transfers and other administrative grievances, seeking early intervention to safeguard the interests of the workforce.
The CEC urged the GAD to prioritise these issues while strengthening coordination between the two UT administrations to avoid delays that adversely affect employees and public service delivery.
Officials said the meeting ended with assurances of enhanced cooperation and prompt follow-up on the concerns put forward by the Ladakh side.
