Pangong Lake, Jun 20: Against the serene backdrop of Pangong Lake, over 13,000 feet above sea level, the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) hosted a vibrant yoga event on June 19, 2025, as part of the ongoing week-long celebrations for International Yoga Day.
The gathering brought together yoga enthusiasts and guests from across the country, creating a shared space for reflection and mindfulness surrounded by Ladakh’s striking natural beauty. The event formed part of a larger collaborative effort supported by the Ministry of Ayush, the UT Administration of Ladakh, and LAHDC Leh.
Participants immersed themselves in traditional asanas and meditative exercises, drawing inspiration from the lake’s calm waters and the invigorating Himalayan air. The setting elevated the experience, reinforcing the spirit of harmony between people and the planet.
With this year’s theme, *“Yoga for One Earth, One Health,”* the Pangong session underscored the growing global movement towards wellness and sustainability. Organizers and attendees alike embraced the opportunity to reconnect with nature and reaffirm the transformative influence of ancient practices in a modern world.
The yoga event at Pangong Lake not only celebrated physical and mental health but also highlighted Ladakh as a destination where tradition meets tranquility. As International Yoga Day approaches its culmination, the gathering remains a memorable moment in the journey of promoting conscious living.
