NEW DELHI, May 24: The Prime Point Foundation has selected 12 Members of Parliament and four parliamentary committees for this year’s Sansad Ratna Awards for outstanding performance up to the end of the Budget session.
Individual awardees include BJP’s Jagdambika Pal (Uttar Pradesh), P. P. Chaudhary (Rajasthan), Nishikant Dubey (Jharkhand) and Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Eknath Shinde (Maharashtra). Other MPs honoured are Praveen Patel (Uttar Pradesh), Bidyut Baran Mahato (Jharkhand), Lumbaram Chaudhary (Rajasthan), Hemant Vishnu Savara (Maharashtra), Smita Uday Wagh (Maharashtra), Naresh Ganpat Mhaske (Maharashtra), Medha Vishram Kulkarni (Maharashtra) and Narhari Amin (Gujarat).
The four parliamentary committees awarded for notable performance are: the Committee on Agriculture (chair: Charanjit Singh Channi), the Finance Committee (chair: Bhartruhari Mahtab), the Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (chair: Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka) and the Committee on Coal and Mines (chair: Anurag Thakur).
Among the winners, Jagdambika Pal and Charanjit Singh Channi are former chief ministers, while Narhari Amin is a former deputy chief minister.
