Washington, Mar 25: The United States has delivered a 15-point peace proposal to Iran aimed at halting the Middle East war, multiple outlets reported.
Shared Tuesday through Pakistan, the plan targets Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear programs, as well as maritime routes, per the New York Times. ABC News cited sources confirming the details but withheld names of Iranian recipients. Israel’s endorsement remains unclear.
The Wall Street Journal outlined the demands: Iran must dismantle its Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow nuclear sites, halt all enrichment on its soil, suspend ballistic missile development, end proxy support, and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
In exchange, international nuclear sanctions would lift, the US would aid and oversee Iran’s civilian nuclear program, and the “snapback” sanctions mechanism would be removed. Iran must also grant full IAEA access to its facilities and abandon its “regional proxy paradigm,” ceasing funding, directing, or arming proxies.
President Trump, speaking Tuesday, claimed victory in the war—whose core aim was preventing Iran’s nuclear weapon. “We’re talking about that… they’ve agreed they will never have a nuclear weapon,” he said.
