NEW DELHI, Mar 30: A US airstrike on Iran’s Mashhad airport damaged a Mahan Air plane slated to collect humanitarian aid from New Delhi, Iranian officials alleged Monday—potentially derailing essential medical supplies for their citizens.
The aircraft was due in India on April 1 to pick up aid, following New Delhi’s first consignment via the Iranian Red Crescent Society on March 18. The embassy in New Delhi expressed gratitude for India’s support.
Mahan Air, a private Iranian carrier serving West, Central, South, Southeast, and East Asia, reportedly sustained damage from the attack. US officials have not confirmed the claims.
