Leh/Chandigarh, Aug 21: In a move poised to enhance scientific and industrial frameworks in the Union Territory of Ladakh, the University of Ladakh and the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) today entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 9th PTP/RMP Conclave.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, and Shri N. Venteshwara, Chief Executive Officer of NABL, formalising a partnership aimed at developing robust systems for testing, calibration, and quality assurance in Ladakh.
Under this agreement, both institutions will collaborate to foster a culture of credibility and precision in laboratory practices. The initiative will extend to conducting awareness programs and specialised training sessions for stakeholders, providing a platform to enhance technical skills and research capabilities in the region. Officials indicated that these efforts are designed to align Ladakh with national and international standards while supporting industrial growth and public welfare.
Present at the signing were Dr. Sonam Joldan, Director of NABL, the Deputy Director, and the Dean of Research Studies from the University of Ladakh, along with other dignitaries.
Authorities highlighted that the partnership will serve as a catalyst for promoting scientific research, technical expertise, and skill development, positioning Ladakh to meet evolving quality and regulatory benchmarks.
