Kargil: An unidentified body was recovered on Tuesday from the Kabadi Nala area of Kargil, with police initiating an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the death.
The recovery was carried out by Al-Mehdi Scouts following information provided by local residents about the presence of a body in the vicinity. Responding swiftly, the team reached the site, secured the area, and retrieved the body in coordination with standard safety protocols.
Officials confirmed that the identity of the deceased has not yet been established. The body has been shifted to a nearby hospital, where medico-legal procedures, including post-mortem examination and identification efforts, are in progress.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and begun preliminary inquiries. While the exact cause of death remains unclear, investigators are examining all possible angles, including accidental and suspicious circumstances. No official confirmation has been made regarding the nature of the case.
