JAMMU DEC 25 : Two wanted criminals have been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) on the outskirts of Jammu and shifted to a jail in Poonch district, police said on Thursday. The accused were identified as Paramjeet Kumar alias Jungi, a resident of R S Pura, and Shubam Saini alias Mundi from the Arnia area.
Police said Paramjeet was booked under the PSA on the basis of formal detention orders issued by the District Magistrate, Jammu, and subsequently lodged in the district jail Poonch. Shubham Saini, described as a habitual offender allegedly involved in multiple criminal cases in recent months, has also been booked under the PSA and lodged in the same jail.
According to police, the step was taken as both had repeatedly managed to secure bail from courts, and their preventive detention under the PSA was deemed necessary to stop them from further criminal activities.
