Srinagar, Jul 24: The Directorate of Fisheries, Jammu and Kashmir, has suspended two officials with immediate effect after they were allegedly found absent from duty without authorization during a surprise inspection of the Fish Farm at Kohru in Handwara, Kupwara district.
The action followed an inspection by the Director of Fisheries on July 19, during which Field Supervisor Nazir Ahmed Wani and Orderly Mohd. Rafiq Lone were found absent from their assigned duties without permission.
Pending a departmental inquiry, both officials have been attached to the Trout Fish Farm, Laribal, Dachigam, Srinagar.
The Directorate has also directed the Assistant Director of Fisheries, Kupwara, to ensure the smooth functioning of the Kohru Fish Farm by making alternative staffing arrangements. The officer has been asked to submit a detailed report, including attendance and leave records of the suspended officials, within three days for further action.
